About the Leather
Our journals are crafted from Italian leather, chosen for its quiet strength and natural character. Each hide is vegetable-tanned using traditional methods that respect both material and time, allowing the leather to breathe, soften, and age with grace.
The leathers we use are sourced from tanneries certified by the A Pelle Vegetale Consortium, an Italian consortium that safeguards the heritage of vegetable tanning. This mark ensures the leather is produced using natural tannins and time-honored processes, resulting in a material that develops depth, patina, and character as it’s lived with.
We select leather not for perfection, but for its ability to carry traces of life. Subtle variations in tone, gentle markings, and natural textures are part of its story. No two pieces are exactly the same, and that uniqueness is intentional.
As it’s held, written in, and carried through daily rituals, the leather will deepen in color and grow more supple. It will respond to touch, time, and movement, becoming a personal archive shaped by use.
This is leather meant to live with you. To be marked, softened, and remembered.
